On Saturday's ride, we had a big problem. And by we, I mean Giro Dave.
It rained. RAINED!
Now, ordinarily, this would not be a big deal, and in fact, Giro bike commutes everyday rain or shine. What a trooper. But when the superbike comes out, the rules change. These bikes only come out after extensive research of barometric pressures, wind speed, and through discussion with the National Weather Service. In fact, on Dave's desk is a red phone with a direct line to the NWS for this very purpose.
So imagine the horror when the rain started to fall at about my 20 mile point in the ride. Everyone knows that the lighter the bike, the more water-soluble it is. This is not the first time he has had to deal with this:
