Maine attraction

Last stop [and first, oddly] was Maine.

Maine feels independent. The people there don't feel consumed by all of things the rest of us are: being in a hurry, having a double tall banana daiquiri latte, trendy shopping malls, BMW's or anything with the words 'chipotle' or 'cayenne' in it. What a relief. The small towns in the interior are whistle clean and as honest as George Washington (who, incidentally, commissioned the lighthouse pictured above in 1790). The restaurants make simple, tasty food, don't have bamboo floors or a list of trendy drinks. You don't see big housing developments, either. And you could really keep yourself busy with a canoe, no doubt.

In short, I like it. Go there.
