Greetings from southern Germany, where its always a good time to eat some meat. Specifically, I am on the Bodensee once again for the next week before returning to Switzerland. This area produces a lot of wine, and I have spent the past few days wandering the vineyards, and sampling the local fare. Giro Dave and Uncle Alex have joined in the fun too beginning Tuesday, and we all agree that this is a lovely area. Definitely not a low calorie area, however.
Supposed to rain over the next few days, time to work…

Hey! What about the beer? I know there are great big hop plants growing next to some of those grapes. Listen, I really think you should give the bier its fair shake here on SA. In fact, beer may be the ultimate small adventure.
Eh?
I second Kaj's motion, particularly with Tettnang so close to you. And, I would like to encourage consideration for the nice things grapes and fruit can become in addition to wine... I'm certain those orchards aren't used exclusively for pie. I don't speak German, but I think I can guess what Die Distillerie means.
bier? I didn't know you could get bier here? further investigation will be required.
Do schnapps count?
